Born in Perth WA in 1913, James was the only child of James Rogers Snr (b1869 in Goulburn NSW) and Henrietta (Annie) Anne Russell (b1873 in Grenfell NSW). James Snr (a Painter for the Railways) and Annie married in 1910 in Grenfell NSW and relocated to Guildford WA where James Snr died in 1924. Annie returned to Grenfell NSW with her son.
In the 1930s James was a Farmer in Temora in the Riverina District if NSW, and was a Carrier in Sydney NSW in 1940 when he married Marion Flora Crawford (b1914 in Beechworth, Victoria). James enlisted in the ACMF (Private; Service No:N270708) in May 1941 before transferring to the AIF (Corporal; Service No:NX44089) in September 1941. James served with 6 Armoured Regiment and was attached to Australian PoW and Internment Camp Liverpool (PWCC) when he was Discharged in September 1945.
James and Marion settled in Sydney NSW where James worked as a Taxi Driver. In 1955 they separated and James relocated to QLD. Marion remained in Sydney and was a Welfare Officer. James died in Sydney NSW in 2000 and Marion in 2004.
