Private Reginald Osborne Streader (Service No:V503501) served in the ACMF from 6 November 1942 to 21 June 1946, and was attached to Recruit Reception and General Details Depot (RR & GDD) at Discharge.
Reg was born in Yarraville, Victoria in 1916, eldest of four children of Charles Osborne Streader (b1895 in Bendigo, Victoria) and his first wife Claudine (Annie) Ann Doloffsky (b1892 in Melbourne, Victoria). Charles (a Tramways Worker) and Annie married in 1915 in Yarraville, Melbourne where they settled and raised their family and Charles was a Tramways Worker (Grip Repairer). Following Annie's death in 1933, Charles remarried in 1937 in Melbourne, and served in WWII (Private; Service No:VX26608). Charles and his second wife Olga settled in Melbourne, where Charles worked as a Mechanic.
Reg was a Motor Mechanic in Melbourne when he enlisted in the Army, and in 1942 in Melbourne married Joan Helen Rankin (b1925 in Melbourne, Victoria). Reg and Joan settled in Melbourne and Nepean, where they raised their family and Reg worked as a Mechanic and Contractor. Reg died in 1987 and Joan in 1990.
