Percy John Curtis COATES was born in Noradjuha, Victoria in 1891

His parents were Samuel James COATES & Mary Ann LANCE

He enlisted in Melbourne on 24th April, 1915 and embarked on the HMAT Demosthenes with the 5th Infantry Battalion, 7th reinforcements on 16th July, 1915

Percy died from Septicaemia in France on 30th June, 1916 and is buried in the Batilleul Communal Cemetery Extension
