Son of J G BELTRAME, Pine Street, Fairfield, NSW
Charlie was serving in New Guinea when the rest of the family were interned as Enemy Aliens. He went AWOL and got back to Sydney and organised their release. He was demoted to Private from Staff Sergeant and sent back.
He was the first Citizen of the Year for Griffith in 1982.
