The eldest of three children (sons), Fred was born in 1915 in Redfern, Sydney NSW to John Septimus Moore (b1881 in Glebe NSW) and Ethel May Games (b1884 in Perth WA). John (a Carrier) and Ethel (a Nurse) married in 1912 in Sydney NSW where they settled and raised their family. John worked as a Carrier/Carter.

Fred was working as a Paper Ruler and Book Binder in Sydney NSW in May 1941 when he enlisted in the ACMF (Lance Corporal; Service No:N245684). In 1942 he married Doreen Harrington (b1920 in Sydney NSW). Fred served in Darwin NT (6 February 1942 - 10 June 1942) and was attached to 'M' Tank Attack Battery when he Discharged in November 1945.

Fred and Doreen settled in Sydney NSW where Fred was a Master Carrier. In the late 1970s Fred retired and he and Doreen moved to Tumbi Umbi at Killarney Vale in Robertson NSW. Fred died in 1984 and Doreen in 2009.
