Private 1207 Serving in the 17th Battalion
Sent to Gallipoli 16th August 1915.
Suffered Nervous Prostration and sent to England 18th April 1916 to recover.
While in England married Winifred Hines (Bagwell)
The had 6 children, Evelyb (known as Ruth), John (Known as Jack), Ronald Phyllis, Ramon, and Beryl Jean who died of Pneumonia at 10 weeks.
Philip was the band master of Orange Junior Band
Philips father was John, who was the son of convicts John Hines and Alise Hines (Hassel). His Mother was Eva Hines (Diedrich) daughter of a German immigrant.
Philips wife Winifred's father was John Bagwell and mother was Lilly (Sprague)
