Once I was lost, now I am found!

From Dennis Frank, Fallen Diggers Inc

Just received some great news from UWC-A. Our case for Lance Corporal William John Grove 1670 53rd Battalion has been accepted. L/Cpl Grove was buried as an Unknown 53rd Bn Australian Soldier in Bellicourt British Cemetery, with date of death 29th of September. This date was incorrect, his actual date of death is 30th of September. L/Cpl Grove was mortally wounded on the 30th September 1918 by a machine gun bullet through the stomach. He was then taken back to the Regimental Aid Post and then to the Advanced Dressing Station. Private Ernest James Smith witnessed Grove after he was hit and he helped to carry him to the dressing station, which was in a cellar in Bellicourt. Smith stated that Grove was left there and he died of his wounds.

So Stand Down Soldier, Your Duty Is Done. R.I.P In Peace Knowing You Have Been Found.
