Lance Corporal Robert Earnest Clarence Ingram (Service No:W69780) served in the ACMF with 4th (WA) Battalion VDC from 26 April 1942 to 15 October 1945.

Clarence was born in Sydney, New South Wales in 1904, eldest of seven children of Ernest Clarence Ingram (b1876 at Vegetable Creek, New South Wales) and his second wife Winifred (Winnie) Gillett (b1884 in Lancashire, England). Ernest (a Miner) and Winnie married in Collie, Western Australia in 1907 - Winnie (a Cotton Spinner) had immigrated in 1901, arriving in Maryborough QLD on board the Duke of Norfolk. Ernest had served in WWI (Private; Service No:3387), and was a Coal Miner in Maitland, New South Wales before moving to Western Australia in 1907. Ernest and Winnie settled at Collie Burn via Collie, where they raised their family and Ernest worked as a Miner and Taxi Driver.

Clarence worked as a Coal Miner at Collie Burn, and in 1927 in Collie married Janet Smith Norrie (b1912 in Aberdeen, Scotland) - Janet immigrated in 1910, arriving in Fremantle on board the Morea. Clarence and Janet settled in the Collie region - at Collie Burn and Collie - Cardiff - where they raised their family and Clarence was a Miner. The couple retired to Perth in the mid 1960s - Clarence died in 1969 and Janet in 1976.
