Private Dorothy June Hall (Service No:NF480145) enlisted in the Australian Army Women's Medical Service (AAWMS) on 9 August 1944 and served at 16 Australian Camp Hospital and 112 BM Hospital. Private Hall was Discharged on 30 January 1947.
Born in 1925 in Tumbarumba NSW, Dorothy was the eldest of three children of Frederick John Charles Hall (b1899 in Cobram, Victoria) and Mary Vera Peel (b1907 in Tumbarumba, NSW). Frederick (a Grocer) and Mary married in 1925 in Tumbarumba and by 1930 were living in Syney, NSW where Frederick was a Grocer. Frederick died in 1942 and in 1963 Mary remarried in 1963 to Charles Godfried Roth - they moved to Cleveland, QLD. Following Charles' death in 1980, Mary moved to Nowra, NSW.
In 1947 in Sydney NSW, Dorothy married Gordon William Carswell (b1922 in Gympie, QLD) - Gordon had served in the ACMF in WWII and was a Labourer in Sydney. Dorothy and Gordon settled in Sydney where they raised their family and Gordon was a Butcher. Gordon died in 1982 and Dorothy in 2016.
