Biography contributed by Zidane McNamara

"Mr and Mrs G. Lindsay have recieved a letter from Palestine as follows from Lieut. W.D Jarrett, re the death of their son Trooper T. Linsday: "I would like to give more details of his noble sacrifice. The action was against picked German troops and was carried out in the early morning. The enemy had succeeded in manning one of our positions; I, with my troops, was detailed to storm the trench, which was very successful. Your brave son fell at my side, shot through the heart, death being instantaneous. His grave is overlooking the Jordan River. I cannot speak too highly of his splendid work. He was very popular and always a gentleman. Another letter from Trooper Frank Ross, says: "I have lost a true friend; he and I have been the greatest of friends; for the past twelve months we have lived together."
