Son of Hugo Joseph Unverhau and Catherine Unverhau nee Connelly of Simpson Street, East Melbourne, Victoria.
17 July 1915 - enlisted at Melbourne with the 1st Australian Reserve Park with the rank of Driver
23 November 1915 - transferred to the Army Service Corps
Commenced return to Australia on 24 June 1916 aboard HT Port Sydney disembarking on 22 July 1916
Medals" 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal
11 October 1916 - discharged at the 3rd Military District as medically unfit due to heart issues.
