Private Norman Thomas Stephens (Service No:V351514) served in the ACMF with 8th Battalion VDC (Vic) from 17 January 1942 to 20 September 1945.

Born in Willenabrina via Warracknabeal, Victoria in 1909, Norman was eldest of four children of Cecil (Frank) Francis Stephens (b1885 in Nhill, Victoria) and Mary Frances Roberts (b1879 in Minlacowie, South Australia). Frank was a Farmer in Willenabrina in 1908 when he and Mary married. They lived in Willenabrina and Portland where they raised their family and Frank was a Farmer.

Norman worked as a Cabinetmaker in Portland where, in 1935, he married Kathleen May Pumpa (b1913 in natimuk, Victoria). Norman and Kathleen settled in Portland where they raised their family and Norman (from 1942) was a Dairy Farmer. Norman died in 1998 and Kathleen in 2003.
