THOUGH ABSENT FROM OUR HOME DEAR JACK YOU ARE EVER IN OUR THOUGHTS
Private JOHN FARRELL, who was recently killed in action in France, was the son of Mrs. M. Farrell, Solomontown, who has three other sons on active service. Private John Farrell enlisted in June, 1915, and served with the original Anzacs at the storming of the heights of Gallipoli. He was subsequently transferred to the western theatre of war. Prior to enlisting he was employed at the Port Pirie Smelters, and was a prominent footballer and athlete. He was widely known, and was a great favorite.
