Corporal Leslie Martin Guy (Service No:V155504) enlisted in the ACMF on 22 December 1941 as a Private and served with 32nd Battalion and 102 AA Regiment. At Discharge on 5 August 1946, Corporal Guy was attached to District Accounts Office Vic.

Les was born in Stawell, Victoria in 1923, youngest of seven children of William Gilbert Guy (b1887 in Portland, Victoria) and Hannah Nicholson (b1888 in Great Western, Grampians, Victoria). William (a Fischerman) and Hannah married in 1909 in Portland, where they settled and raised their family and William was a Fisherman. In 1917 the family moved to Stawell, where William worked as a Fishmonger and Coach Driver until the early 1940s, when the family moved to Melbourne, and William worked as a Labourer.

Les was working as a Confectioner in Melbourne when he enlisted in the ACMF. Following his Discharge from the Army, Les returned to Parkville in Melbourne where he worked as a Machinist and Labourer. In the early 1970s in Melbourne, Les married Eileen (Ninnie) Janet Perrott (nee Gall; b1921 in Melbourne, Victoria). Known as 'Big Poppy' to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Les died in 2001. Ninnie died in 2012.
