Albert was the only child of Louisa Marion Haysey (b1886 in Melbourne, Victoria). Louisa worked as a Tailor in Melbourne, where she died in 1939.

Albert worked as a Dairy Worker in Melbourne, Victoria and was a Houseman in 1940 when he enlisted in the ACMF as a Private (Service No:V1474). He served as a Cook with Army Canteen Services (AACS) and was promoted to Corporal in January 1946. Albert was attached to AACS Southern Command when he was Discharged in September 1946.

In November 1946 Albert was in Perth WA when he married Patricia (Gwen) Gwendoline Gorringe (b1924 In Fremantle, WA) - Gwen had also served in WWII (Private; Service No:WF93964) with AACS. Albert and Gwen settled in Perth WA where Albert worked as a Storeman and Packer. Gwen died in 1989 and Albert in 1998.
