Private Oswald Mibus (Service No:V59246) enlisted in the ACMF on 19 September 1940 and served in the Northern Territory with 23/21 Infantry Battalion from 9 May 1942 to 24 March 1943. Private Mibus was attached HQ 11 Line of Communication L of C) Area at Discharge on 12 July 1944.

Ossie was born in Hamilton, Victoria in 1919, fourth of eight children of Edmund Oswald Mibus (b1886 in Hamilton, Victoria) and Sophie Mirtschin (b1885 at Mt Rouse, Victoria). Edmund was a Farmer in Hamilton in 1913 when he and Sophie married in Tabor. They settled in Hamilton where they raised their family and Edmund was a Farmer.

Ossie worked as a Farm Labourer in Portland where, in 1943, he married Phyllis Ann Male (b1918 in Rainbow, Victoria) - Phyllis worked in Geelong as a Factory Hand. Ossie and Phyllis settled in Portland where they raised their family and Ossie worked as a Farm Labourer and Driver until the mid 1960s when he was a Farmer. Phyllis died in 1988 and Ossie in 2011.
