On page 23 of the Attestation paper it states that his tue name was Walter John Leslie Corkran but he had enlisted as Walter John Leslie Cochrane. He had also given his next of kin as his sister Doris Cochrane however it was later proved that Doris was not related to Walter in any capacity.

Son of Henrietta (Hetty) Corkran of Bordertown, SA. Henrietta died in 1899 and Walter was made a ward of the state. His father is not known and he has no siblings.
