Son of Howard Urmson and Elizabeth Mat Urmson nee Gummow of 'One Mile Lagoon', Forest Hill, QLD.
31 December 1914 - enlisted at Bowen, QLD, with the 11th Light Horse Regiment Machine Gun Section and with the rank of Driver.
29 August 1915 - transferred to the 2nd Light Horse Regiment
26 February 1916 - transferred to the 11th Light Horse Regiment
20 August 1918 - promoted to Lance Corporal
28 August 1919 - returned to Australia aboard HT Morvada disembarking at Sydney for onward travel to Brisbane
Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal
29 October 1919 - discharged at the 1st Military District
On 1 September 1923 Adam married Alma May Lauman
