Private Thomas Wensley Hewitt (Service No:V361957) served in the ACMF as a Private attached to 14 Battalion (Vic) VDC from 20 January 1942 to 21 September 1945.

Born in Moyston, Ararat, Victoria in 1911, Tom was second of four children of Samuel (Jack) John Hewitt (b1884 in Moyston, Victoria) and Annie Maria Wensley (b1882 in Geelong, Victoria). Jack (a Farmer) and Annie married in 1908 in Ararat and settled in Moyston via Ararat where they raised their family and Jack was a Farmer.

Tom (the only son) worked as a Labourer in Moyston via Ararat where, in 1940 he married Amelia Louisa Clark (b1918 in Ararat, Victoria). Tom and Amelia settled in Moyston and in his WWII Attestation Papers, Tom stated he was a Storekeeper - Electoral Roll data give his occupation as Labourer. Tom and Amelia lived in Moyston where they raised their family and Tom was a Labourer. Tom died in 1979 and Amelia in 1994.
