Harold was the eldest of two children of Charles Henry Willey (b1883 in Ferguson, WA) and Maude Alice White (b1887 in Mathoura, NSW). Charles (a Wood Carter) and Maude (a Tailoress) married in 1911 in Bunbury WA. Charles worked as a Post Office Official in Bunbury before moving the family to Fremantle where he worked as a Clerk/Civil Servant.
Harold was a Plaster Board Worker/Plasterer in Fremantle WA when he enlisted in the ACMF in February 1942 - his Attestation Papers state he was married to Jenney and both were living with his parents in McKimmie St in Fremantle. Harold served as a Private/Gunner (Service No:W57782) with Heavy Artillery Fremantle and was Discharged in November 1944. He continued living with his parents until the late 1950s, when he was working as a Storeman. In the early 1960s he moved to Claremont and worked as a Manufacturer until his death in 1975.
