Biography contributed by Robert Johnson

Peter Parker's father, Peter Joseph Parker, served in WW1.  He enlisted on 13 March 1916 and was discharged on 31 July 1917.  His NAA service record is at https://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/SearchNRetrieve/Interface/ViewImage.aspx?B=8008240 . He did not serve overseas and therefore does not meet the VWMA's listing rules.  He taught at Perth Modern School from 1931 to 1956 which includes the years that his son was a student at the school, 1931-34.

Peter Ross Parker passed his Junior exams in 1932 and his Leaving examinations in 1934, and was described as a "keen, intelligent officer" in a review on 26 June 1945, three months before his discharge.  He was living in Applecross when he died on 20 July 1968 at the young age of 51, 10 years before his mother and 14 years before his father who died on 21 October 1982 aged 91.
