Corporal Eleanor Wilhelmina Webster (Service No:TF16402) enlisted in the AWAS on 13 August 1942 as a Private attached to No 5 AWAS Training School - appointed Cook. Promoted to Corporal on 28 January 1943, Corporal Webster was attached to 23 AWAS Barracks at Discharge on 21 July 1944. Husband Brian Allen Webster served in the AIF in WWII (Service No:TX12303).

Ellie was born in Launceston, Tasmania in 1913, sixth of seven children of Townley Jackman (b1876 in Rothesay, New Zealand) and Florence (Florrie) Edith Howard (b1875 in Christchurch, New Zealand). Townley (a Dairyman) and Florrie married in 1898 in Wellington,  New Zealnd, and by 1902 had settled in Tasmania, where they raised their family. Townley engaged in diverse occupations - Hawker in Mersey, Tea Merchant and Fruiterer in Launceston (where Florrie was a Storekeeper), Carrier in Beaconsfield, Fisherman at Blackman's Bay, and Labourer in Hobart.

Ellie was working as a Shop assistant in Moonah in 1942 when she enlisted in the AWAS. In 1943 in Hobart she married Brian Allen Webster (b1917 in Campbell Town, Tasmania) - Brian was a Corporal (Service No:TX12303) with 12 Field Ambulance. Following Discharge, Ellie and Brian settled in Moonah, where they raised their family and Brian worked as a Labourer and Skin Classer until his death in 1987. Ellie died in 2002.
