Ivo (Dick) Criddle was the youngest son of James Criddle (1857-1927) and Emma Pell (1859-1944) of Naraling. They had a family of twelve, including six older brothers who were World War 1 Veterans. Two of the six brothers were also Prisoners of War in Germany.
Ivo (Dick) did not go overseas in the Military but remained in the Defence Volunteers Company of No. 7 Geraldton Battalion.
