Leading Aircraftman Alan Lindsay Reid (Service No:88657) enlisted in the RAAF on 13 august 1943 and was attached to HQ North Western Area when he was Discharged on 18 February 1946.

Born in 1925 in Launceston Tasmania, Alan was the third child of Charles Gordon Sydney Reid (b1897 in Launceston, Tasmania) and Dorothy (Dorrie) May Waddingham (b1902 in Launceston, Tasmania). Charles had enlisted in the AIF in September 1918 - and was Discharged in November - not called for Duty. Charles (a Carter) and Dorrie married in 1919 in Launceston, Tasmania where they settled and raised their family and Charles worked as a Carter and Labourer.

Alan worked as a French Polisher in Launceston, and in the early 1950's married Dulcie Dawn (b1929). Alan and Dulcie settled in Launceston where Alan worked as a French Polisher. Alan died in 2010 and Dulcie in 2020.
