Leading Aircraftman Charles Allan Morrison (Service No:116550) served in the Militia (Trooper; Service No:83420) from 29 January 1929 to 3 January 1933 with 4th Light Horse Regiment. On 31 July 1942, he enlisted in the RAAF as an Aircraftman I at No 1 Recruiting Centre Melbourne - mustered as Trainee Tech, then remustered as Flight Mechanic then as Fitter. LAC Morrison (promoted on 20 February 1943) was attached to General Reconnaissance School (GRS) at Discharge on 13 December 1945.
Charles was born in Colac, Victoria in 1919, eldest of three children of Edgar Oswald Morrison (b1877 in Carpendeit, Victoria) and Jeanette Mabel Morgan (b1874 at Emerald Hill, Melbourne, Victoria). Edgar was a Farmer and Jeanette a Teacher when they married in 1908 in Carpendeit, where they settled and raised their family. Edgar was a Dairy Farmer/Grazier.
Charles attended Brighton Technical School for two years (Fitter and Turner) and was a Dairy Farmer in Carpendeit in 1929 when he enlisted in the Militia. In 1936 in Carpendeit he married Mabel Mary Robb (b1911 in Colac, Victoria) and they settled in Carpendeit, where they raised their family and Charles was a Dairy Farmer and Contractor. In the late 1950s Charles and Mabel moved to Drysdale, where Charles was a Storeman. Charles died in 1990 and Mabel in 2003.
