Leading Aircraftman Brian Vincent McClure (Service No:85206) was still a school student when he enlisted in the Air Training Corps as a Cadet on 19 October 1941, attached to No 5 Cadet Wing Perth. Cadet McClure was posted to 75 Squadron in 1943, and on 9 August 1944 enlisted in the RAAF as an Aircraftman I - mustering as Clerk. Promoted to Leading Aircraftman on 9 February 1945, he was attached to Air Defence HQ Perth at Discharge on 5 July 1946.

Born in 1926 in Dumbleyung WA, Brian was the youngest of seven children of David George McClure (b1885 in Drummond, Victoria) and Katherine (Kitty) Cecilia Fives (b1884 in County Cork, ireland). David (a Carpenter in Wagin, WA) and Kitty (a Domestic at the Hotel Perth) married in 1914 in Perth, WA - Kitty had immigrated in 1910, arriving in Fremantle, WA on board the Orvieto. David and Kitty settled in Dumbleyung, WA where they raised their family and David was a Carpenter/Builder. Kitty moved to Perth with the children in the late 1930s.

Brian was attending St Patrick's College, Perth in 1941 when he enlisted in the Air Training Corps, and was a Junior Clerk with WAGR by 1944 when he enlisted with the RAAF. In Perth in 1949, Brian was a Civil Servant (Clerk) when he married Audrey Patricia Valentine. The couple settled in Perth where Brian worked as a Clerk in the Civil Service. Brian died in 2020.
