Hilda was the second of four children of Carl (Charles) Frederick Gorsch (b1888 in Laidley, QLD) and second wife Eva Lillian Maud Pearce (b1897 in Laidley, QLD). Charles (a Labourer) and Eva married in May1916 - Charles enlisted in the AIF in April 1916 (Private; Service No:2177B). After the War, Charles and Eva lived in Gin Gin and Childers before settling in Nambour, QLD - Charles woorked as a Labourer, and served in the ACMF in WWII (Private; Service No:Q140194). In the mid 1950s he and Eva retired to the Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore and Coolum). 

Hilda was a Corporal (Service No:100298) in the WAAF in 1944 when she married Kelso Raymond Jarratt (Private; Service No:VX145431). Hilda served as a Telegraphist at Victoria Barracks and was attached to RAAF Station Maryborough when she was Discharged in August 1945.

Hilda and Kelso settled in Nambour, QLD before moving to Brisbane in the early 1960s. Hilda died in 1986 and Kelso in 2007.
