DEATH OF THE REV. T. TERRY

The Rev. Thomas Terry, rector of All Saints', Sutton Forest, died yesterday, aged 50 years.
Mr. Terry, an old Fort-street schoolboy, was curate at Leichhardt, Beecroft, and Pennant Hills before leaving as chaplain with the A.I.F. in 1916. Upon his return in 1919, he became assistant minister of St. Paul's, Pennant Hills, and St. John's, Beecroft. In 1922 he was appointed rector of Holy Trinity, Miller's Point, and the following year he became rector of Shoalhaven. He became chaplain of the Missions to Seamen, Sydney, in 1928, and a year later was appointed rector of Port Kembla. He succeeded the late Bishop Kirkby as organising secretary of the Bush Church Aid Society in 1933, but indifferent health compelled him to relinquish these arduous duties the following year. He then became rector of Prospect and Seven Hills. He was recently appointed to Sutton Forest.
He is survived by Mrs. Terry and two daughters.
A service was held at All Saints', Sutton Forest, yesterday. There will be a further service at St. Paul's, Chatswood, this morning, at which the Archbishop of Sydney (Dr.Mowll) will officiate, and the interment will take place at the Northern Suburbs Cemetery.
