Son of Edward O'Brien and Catherine O'Brien nee Phillips of McGregor Street, Hay, NSW
On 14 May 1919 Stanley married Elizabeth Dick in the Presbyterian Church, Great Victoria Street, Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland. Minister J. McIlrath officiated.
Commenced return to Australia on 8 August 1919 aboard HT Katoomba disembarking on 25 September 1919
