Son of Harry George Hooke and Alice Maud May Hooke of 'Cooksbury', Yillowra Street, Auburn, NSW
Brother of Arthur Howard Hooke who returned to Australia having served with the 3rd Battalion and William Harry Hooke who returned to Australia on 14 April 1917 as wounded having served with the 3rd Battalion
Commenced return to Australia on 6 July 1919 aboard HT Boorara disembarking on 26 August 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney
