Hector Macquarie Condon
Hector (Snow) Macquarie Condon was my Uncle. My mother was his sister Helen.
He was born on 8 June 1917 in Dubbo, New South Wales and died in Hawthorn, Victoria on 7 December, 1974.
His parents were Kate Grace Gay and George Lachlan Condon who were married in Omeo, Victoria, on 10 April, 1904.
They had five children:

Hector enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force on 6 May, 1941 at Griffith, New South Wales. His address was Block 634, Yoogali, Griffith, and his occupation in civil life was listed as Tractor Driver.
After his initial training in Australia he was sent to Milne Bay, Papua New Guinea, in response to the Japanese invasion. This was the southernmost point of the Japanese advance in the South-West Pacific. He was responsible for the maintenance and repair of fighter planes and had worked on the plane of Australian ace pilot 'Bluey Truscott'.
