DEATH OF MR. W. J. CAHILL
Former Cumnock Station Owner
A well-known former resident of the Cumnock district, Mr. William Joseph Cahill, passed away at the Mater Misericordiate Private Hospital, Sydney, on April 7 after a short illness. The late Mr. Cahill, who resided at his home at Balgowlah, Manly, disposed of his 'Burgoon' property in the Cumnock district some time ago. The 'Burgoon' station had been owned by the Cahill family for a great many years. Mr. Cahill, who served right through the first world war, is survived by his two children, Patricia and Tom, and he also leaves behind to mourn has loss a brother and seven sister, one of whom is Mrs. E. Blackadder, of Molong.
Following Requiem Mass, the funeral, which was very largely attended, took place to Manly cemetery, where the remains were buried beside those of deceased's wife, who predeceased him six years ago. Rev. Fr. McDonald, P.P., assisted by Rev. Fr. Johnson, of Riverview College, officiated at the graveside.
All close relatives of the late Mr. Cahill, including Mrs. Blackadder, attended the funeral.
