Flight Sergeant Keith Lionel Moss (Service No:431741) initially served in the AIF (Private; Service No:VX76061) with AIF Details Depot and 3 Lines of Communication Provost Coy from 19 February 1942 to 2 August 1943. He enlisted in the RAAF at No 1 Recruiting Centre Melbourne on 3 August 1943 as an Aircraftman II, and by 21 April 1945 was promoted to Flight Sergeant, and qualified to fly Airspeed Oxford, Avro Anson and DH 82 aircraft. Flight Sergeant Moss was attached to Advanced Flying and Refresher Unit Deniliquin at Discharge on 3 October 1947.
Keith was born in Melbourne, Victoria in 1922, third of four children of William (Ernie) Ernest Moss (b1897 in Melbourne, Victoria) and Olive (Dolly) Maud Lambert (b1894 in Nhill, Victoria). Ernie (a Labourer) and Dolly (a Lady's Help) married in 1916 at Diamond Creek, Victoria and lived there, in St Andrew/Queenstown, and Melbourne where they raised their family and Ernie worked as a Labourer.
Keith worked as a Messenger, Motor Mechanic and Driver, and Railway Porter prior to enlisting in WWII. In 1940 in Melbourne, he married Iris (Riss) Mary Harvey (b1921 in Melbourne, Victoria). Following his Discharge, Keith worked for The Country Road Board (CRB) as a Herdsman and Inspector in Benalla until his death in 1957. Riss remarried in 1958.
