After the war together and dad operated there own fruit shop business at Springvale Road Springvale Vic on the act of the local council buying out the property to widen Springvale Rd in approx 1963, they bought the Freehold property Caledonia Inn (or the Stump Hotel) in Port Fairy Victoria, where they operated the business until they sold in 1976 when they moved to Queensland and purchased the Karana Holiday Appartments on Chevron Island.
