Son of Henry Uren and Emma Jane Davey Uren nee Leonard of Hunter Street, Charters Towers, QLD
16 August 1915 - enlisted at Charters Towers, QLD, with the 5th Light Horse Regiment and with the rank of Private.
22 January 1917 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Euripides disembarking on 21 February 1917 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane
Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal
18 April 1917 - discharged at the 1st Military District as medically unfit due to asthma
On 29 November 1919 William married May Elizabeth Charlotte Seibold in QLD
