Biography

"...3084 Private Alfred Doney, 22nd Battalion, of Fitzroy, Vic. A plasterer prior to enlistment, Pte Doney embarked with the 7th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Commonwealth on 26th November 1916. After initially transferring to the 57th Battalion, he later transferred to the 60th Battalion where, on 21st July 1916, he died of wounds received in action and was buried in the Bailleul Communal Cemetery Extension." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
