George Andrew Porter served in the First World War in 1915. He was a part of the 1st Battalion and was in the rank of a Private. Porter was born in 1895.   Before the war, Porter was a single man living in his hometown of Ultimo, Sydney at 369 Bulwarra Road whilst taking up the occupation of a driver.

On the 22 of December 1915, George enrolled for the war. On the 1st of April 1916, George Andrew Porter embarked from Sydney Australia on board HMAT SS Makarini. At the time of embarkation, Porter was 21 years of age. He was the first infantry unit recruited. He served in the war for three years and returned to Australia on the 2nd of January 1919. The death and details of death are unknown for George Andrew Porter.
