George Howatt SMIRTHWAITE was born in Ilford Cottage, Ilford, Rylstone, NSW on 15th April, 1888

His parents were John Alcock Dixon SMIRTHWAITE & Agnes Jane HOWATT

He died of wounds in France on 24th December, 1916 and is buried in the Heilly Station Cemetery
