Daughter of Albert Charles FREE, 3 The Avenue, Surrey Hills, Vic.
Prior to enlistment she had her own business at Mont Albert for three years.
Her special qualifications were listed as Organiser 'Choir Director" - interestes included Tennis, three years with the Zenee Calisthenic Branch Club having 2 years Senior Gymnasium, was a Youth Club Leader, Church Choir Director, Organist and Pianist.
In her application she writes the following - I have had civilian experience with girls clubs, leadership camps etc. and have commanded both children's and adult choirs. I consider that this experience plus three years' personal business management including book-keeping of the sames under double entry system, should with the seven months W.A.A.A.F. service equip me fo rthe postion which I now seek.
Nancy is described as "An average officer, who has much to learn from experience. She is at present over confident due to enthusiasm and an inatly ambitious nature. S/O Friee has worked hard to improve her educational status. With guidance whe will become a moderatly efficient WAAAF wherein her interests lie.
Nancy was discharged on 5th November 1943
