A Devoted Uncle - Final

Eugene Thomas Healy is fondly remembered by his family - he was childless and single and made a great contribution to local community where he could be entrusted to look after local properties. In particular he is remembered fondly by the Healy family of Dalby, his nephews and nieces. Eugene had one sister, Frances, and 4 brothers' Joseph, Edward, Walter and William (the eldest who died in war battle in Belgium). Eugene's parents were John and Agnes Healy who are buried in the Monumental Dalby cemetery. Eugene's brother Walter Healy married Catherine Malone and they are also buried in the monumental Dalby cemetery with Walter and Eugene's parents John and Agnes Healy. The Healy's made their mark in hotel ownership on the South-Western Downs, trades and businesses. Walter Healy (son of John and Agnes, and Eugene's brother) worked as as printer at the Dalby Herald until his death at 56 and with his wife Catherine, they had 8 children, two daughters Judith (Julie) and Catherine (Cath), and 6 sons, Brian Francis (my dad), Gregory, Kevin, Peter, John, Walter (Wally). Of those, nephew Wally Healy of Dalby has actively sought a memorial plaque in Eugene's home town of Dalby. His other nephew Brian Francis Healy born 1935 will be buried next to Eugene at the Mount Gravatt cemetery.
