Mr. Bert. French, 39 years, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. French, died at his parents' home in Arthur street on Friday afternoon. Deceased was a staff Sergeant in the A.I.F., and served in the Great War from 1914 to the signing ot the Armistice in 1918. He had been ill for the last two years, and his condition gradually became worse. On Monday he took a serious turn, but temporarily recovered, and on Friday afternonn he was sitting up in bed, when he suddenly fell back and expired. Deceased was buried in the Springfield Methodist Cemetery on Saturday afternoon.
