Sub Lieutenant Phillip Morris Andreas enlisted in the RANVR at Fremantle on 14 December 1942 and was appointed Skipper (Naval Auxiliary Patrol) Kimra. He had enlisted in the AIF at Guildford (Recruiting Tent) as a Private (Service No:W15842) and served as a Private attached to 38th Battery for a few weeks (10 December 1917 to 21 February 1918), and was a member of the Naval Auxiliary Patrol (Reserves) from 12 December 1937. Sub Lieutenant Andreas served with the RANVR until 6 March 1946 when his appointment was terminated.

Phillip was born in Cottesloe, Fremantle WA in 1897, eldest of four children of Frederick Phillip Andreas (b1868 in Sydney, NSW) and Anna Maria Morris (b1870 in Sydney, NSW). Frederick (a Civil Servant) and Anna married in 1897 in Claremont, Fremantle, WA and lived in Cottesloe and Perth where they raised their family and Frederick was a Civil Servant.

Phillip worked as a Law Clerk in Perth and Claremont, and in 1935 in Fremantle, married Doris Christine Erickson (b1904 in Broad Arrow, WA) - Doris was a Nurse at Subiaco Children's Hospital. Phillip and Doris settled in Perth where they raised their family and Phillip was a Manager and Member of the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club. Phillip died in 1951 and Doris in 1982.
