Ordinary Seaman Allan Francis Morton S/8871 RANR.

Allan was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Morton of Albury NSW. He was educated at the Christian Brothers school in Albury and at the time of enlisting in the RAN he was empoyed as a junior clerk in the Government Insurance Office in Sydney.

He had entered the RAN in early August 1943 within days of turning 17 and after training at HMAS Cerberus and at HMAS Leeuwin, he joined the corvette HMAS Bathurst in March 1944. Allan had only just turned 19 when he passed away from Polio in the Royal Naval Hospital in  Colombo  Sri Lanka on the 12th of August 1944.

He is buried in the CWGC Plot in the Liveramentu Cemetery in Colombo.
