Coming Home
Mrs. C. F. Harris, Lindsay-street, Hamilton, received word from the Navy yesterday that her son, Able Sealman Robert Collins, of H.M.A.S. Perth, was safe in Allied hands and that arrangements were being made for his transport to Australia. Able Seaman Collins was aboard the Perth when she was sunk in the Coral Sea Battle in February, 1942. Later his mother received word that he was a prisoner of war in Japanese hands. There were three cards from him from prisoner-of-war camps. They indicated he was well. Able Seaman Collins who is 24 was employed by Mr. Alf. Edden, estate agent, of New Lambton, before enlistment in the Navy.
