William Dart was married to Mrs. Georgina Dart. He was born in a town in South Australia called Mount Gambier where he grew up. Later he lived in Adelaide with his wife. Mr. Dart and Mrs. Dart had 3 children before Mr. Dart registered on the 20 - 8 1915-2 and joined the Army on the 30 - 8 - 1915. He was 34 2/12 years old when joining the army. His occupation before joining the war was a Horse Driver.
In September 1916 he was transferred to the 7th Field Company Engineers with the rank of Sapper. On 14 November 1916 he was badly wounded in the right arm and evacuated to England. The wound was severe enough that he was returned to Australia for medical discharge in early 1917.
William Dart sadly died on the 9th of May 1946.
