Private Arthur Henry Linn Piper (Service No:VX125734) first served in the ACMF with 3 Army Service Corps (AASC) Training Battalion from 21 January 1942. On 3 July 1943 Private Piper transferred to the AIF and was attached to 2 Army Service Corps (AASC) Training Battalion at Discharge on 8 December 1943,

Harry was born in Geelong, Victoria in 1911, second of five children of Arthur Piper (b1881 in Geelong, Victoria) and Sarah Ann Browne (b1880 in Winchelsea, Victoria). Arthur (a Farmer) and Sarah married in 1908 in Geelong where they settled and raised their family and Arthur was a Farmer and Grazier.

Harry worked on the family farm and as a Clerk in Geelong, where in 1938 he married Edith Robertson Ching (b1911 in Colac, Victoria) - Edith was a Nurse at Melbourne Children's Hospital. Harry and Edith lived in Stawell, Camperdown and Torquay where they raised their family and Harry worked as a Grazier, Auctioneer, Branch Manager (Dalgety's) and Agent. Harry died in 1965 and Edith in 2001.
