Sergeant Albert Roy Boulton (Service No:NX130433) initially served in the AIF as a Private with AIF Home Service, enlisting at fifteen years of age in 1918 (April to October) and was Discharged as under age (he was a student when he enlisted). He served in the Militia (Private; Service No:435252) attached to 2 Division AASC (14 July 1937 - 20 November 1939). Private Boulton then served in the ACMF (Service No:NP5763) attached to 2 Motor Transport Depot (Driver; Group 3 Specialist), enlisting on 28 December 1939 and Discharging on 12 October 1942 to transfer to the AIF the following day. Corporal Boulton was attached to 1 Motor Transport Depot, and was a Sergeant in the Interim Army attached to 124 Transport Platoon with the British Commonwealth Occupation Forces (BCOF) when he served in Japan (Kure and Iwakuni) from March 1946 to May 1948. Sergeant Boulton was attached to 169 General Transport Coy at Discharge on 11 May 1948.

Albert was born in Sydney, New South Wales in 1903, fourth of seven children of Arthur Edward Boulton (b1876 in Christchurch, New Zealand) and Evelyn (Eva) Mary Moroney (b1878 in Sydney, New South Wales). Arthur (a Coach Trimmer) and Eva (a Domestic Servant) married in 1899 in Sydney, where they settled and raised their family and Arthur was a Coach and Motor Trimmer.

Albert worked as a Storeman in Sydney, where in 1925 he married Agnes Glen Currie (b1905 in Lanarkshire, Scotland) - Agnes immigrated in 1912, arriving with her parents and siblings in Sydney on board the Rangitira. Albert and Agnes lived in Newcastle and Sydney, where they raised their family and Albert worked as a Storeman and Radio Mechanic. Following his Discharge from the Army, Albert and Agnes lived in Sydney, where Albert worked as a Radio Mechanic and later as a Crane Driver. Albert died in 1980 and Agnes in 1999.
