Son of George Quinn and Sarah Quinn nee Green of Birregurra, Victoria. Brother of Jonah(Jonas) Quinn MM who returned to Australia on 27 February 1919 having served with the 6th Battalion

Commenced return to Australia on 31 March 1919 aboard HT Khyber disembarking on 22 May 1919

During 1921c Michael married Mabel Thelma Higgins in Victoria
