Dad went to Borneo,New Guinea,learnt to cook in army and was in army canteens,went AWOL few times to see mum,had 2 daughters,had mates in army he kept in contact with. Ended up working on railway in Sydney in the kitchen cooking and delivering food to the trains,southern aurora,Indian pacific etc.
Queensland war memorial also put a plaque in the pinaroo gardens for us on the wall . He was funny and had a great sense of humour
