James de Mole CARSTAIRS was born in Melbourne, Victoria on 12th October, 1914

His parents were James Leslie CARSTAIRS & Fanny Elizabeth DE MOLE

He married Winifred Effie THORNTON in Christ Church, South Yarra, Victoria on 11th August 1942

He enlisted in Hawthorn with the Army on 21st October, 1939 and rose through the ranks to Lieutenant Colonel (see service details for more information) he was discharged on 17th October, 1945

James died in Geelong, Victoria on 15th October, 2007 at the age of 93
